2011 poetrySPARK recap
Our Best of the Open Mic contest awarded local literary talent with prizes such as a Kindle, Moleskines, journal subscriptions and Godiva! Erotic poetry and a featured reading also took place. Poetry on Demand returned and one poem sponsored a marriage proposal!
2010 poetrySPARK recap
Local poets, novices & professionals, participated in our series of literary events. 2010 poetrySPARK featured readings (including a poetry slam and an “After Dark” event), workshops, & panel discussions. The inaugural Poetry on Demand took place.
2009 poetrySPARK recap
About 60 different poets read their work at a North Carolina Writer’s Network sponsored reading on Friday night or at a themed reading (humor, narrative/ lyrical, formal/metrical, and experimental) on Saturday night at the Morning Times.
