Whether it’s ballroom, modern, hiphop, ballet or freestyle hoola hooping, we have a lot of dance passion in the Triangle area! We are Through curated performances and free dance instruction for the public, danceSPARK provides the Raleigh community with a wide variety of dance experiences.

Make sure to check out all the different Dance Academy offerings and Join in the Fun! Children and adults are invited to participate in a variety of free dance classes offered through the danceSPARK Dance Academy. See the below schedule for class descriptions, including any skill-level or age restrictions. Many classes are open to students with no previous dance experience! We encourage you to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of each class as space is limited and participants will be admitted in order of arrival.

Super Small Dances is a series of small-scale dance concerts produced in REP’s upstairs studio space. Code f.a.d. Company presents selections from their repertory, including a sneak preview of Code f.a.d. Company’s newest evening-length work Indulge. Each concert in approximately an hour long, and includes time for audience questions at the end of the show. Space is limited in the REP space, we encourage audience members to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to show-time to secure a seat.

Dance Academy: Introduction to Partner Balancing

Introduction to Partner Balancing by Kaci Torres & Katie Magee
Join AcroEntertainment to learn the fundamentals of partner balancing in a cooperative and safe environment. Class begins with a group warm-up and stretch, followed by step-by-step instruction on basic partner balancing. We will learn the safe way to get in and out of poses, proper alignment, and different techniques for spotting others. Wear comfortable clothes that will allow you to work upside-down! Bring a yoga mat if you have one. Feel free to come alone or with a friend; we will work in groups. All ages are welcome; however, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

KID’S CLOWNING by Kaci Torres & Katie Magee
All ages (4 yrs and up) are welcome to join AcroEntertainment and learn the basics of clowning! We will start with a group warm-up and stretch, followed by work with balls, masks, and of course red noses! Learn about hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, creative body expression, and audience engagement. At the end, we’ll cover a few basic partner balancing poses and cool down as a group. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
