General Organizer’s Meeting Tonight 6.21.10!

Just a reminder that tonight is the next General Organizer’s Meeting tonight Monday, June 21, 2010 at 6:30 at Designbox (323 W Martin Street, Downtown Raleigh). See you all tonight!

musicSPARK Mtg Minutes 5.5.10

Wednesday’s Meeting Minutes 5/5/10:
The most pressing thing is to really finish up getting the venues to commit, and then start really going through the bands and listening.

Ann Marie suggested that we divide up the bands, w/ some overlap, and have everyone listen to theirs (and as many more as they want). If you want to be involved in that process, email back.

From there, we’re thinking of offering packages for different venues, tailored to what they would like/would appeal to their audiences. So keep in mind groupings of bands/genres while listening. This way, even if the venue wants to “plan their own” they’ll have a good smattering of bands to choose from, that aren’t all over the map and overwhelming in number.

We also discussed when we’d have an idea how many spots/when those spots would be for the stage. We’ll follow up with Art and Josh to find out what kind of timeline they’re looking at.

Attending: Britt Foxworth, Mark Daumen, Xopher Thurston, Aly Khalifa, Beth Khalifa, Mica Khalifa, Ann Marie Baum, Mary Ellis

General Meeting Notes April 19

Monday, April 19th was our Second General Meeting at Designbox.

Aly Khalifa went over some basic information about how to run a SPARK—and let everyone know about all the new resources available on the SPARKcon.com Organizer’s Corner. Also, he went over how each SPARK will have access to its own page and calendar on the Web-site. Full instructions are posted on the Organizers Corner (of course, that is where all the good stuff is found) Britt Hayes will be the main contact for web access: britt@sparkcon.com

Sarah Powers announced SPARKcon and VAE are finalists for the What Matters Award, a $5,000 award given by the Triangle Community Foundation. All SPARKers should vote so we can win! http://www.trianglecf.org/news_events/vote_choose_the_what_matters_award_winner/

There will be training in May for those who missed the other training.
