Thanks to Crash Greg at the Raleigh Downtowner for putting together this great summary of what’s up for SPARKcon next week!
Check out an annotated map of this year’s layout. And yes, this is subject to change…

The designSPARK team had a great meeting on Friday. Thanks to those who could make it! Meeting minutes are attached for those who could not make it. We have a new regular meeting date. It will be every Tuesday at 6:30. We are skipping this Tuesday (tomorrow) and will meet next Tuesday, May 11th at Designbox. Please feel free to invite anyone you think may be interested in helping out.
Our big push right now is to get the call for entries out and posted on the designSPARK website. We are making one call for professional designers and one for students. I have made a draft of the documents for the professionals. It includes the following documents: 1) Entry/Submission Requirements 2) Registration Form 3) Entry Description form. I will be sharing these three google documents under separate email. Please review and send me your feedback. I created them from the view point of Architecture/Interior Design, so may need to add some criteria for other disciplines.
In addition I have set up some deadlines based on SPARKcon general deadlines and dates discussed in our meeting. Let me know if you think these need any tweaking:
Registration deadline: June 1
Submission deadline: July 19
Jury: July 21-Aug 6
Notice of Acceptance: Aug 12
Press Release: Aug 16
Deadline for Display Boards: Sept 1
SPARKcon: Sept 16-21
Also, any ideas on what size and thickness the display boards should be? I left this blank in the documents. Donald, could you tell us what seemed to work best for the design expo?
Thanks,
Reagan
