Everyone agreed we like the Call for Talent!

Ideas discussed:

                -Venues:

                1) choose one venue from each “borough”

                2)Lincoln theatre-big talent; Foreign Exchange, justice

                3) Pour House-free venue; inflowential; some acts exclusively deal with & would like to stay here

                4) Main Stage-Artimis Pyle (from Lynard Skynard)?

5) Southland Ballroom-free venue; give approx. 200 tix away, give bands everything else they collect

6) Raleigh Amphitheatre? Schedule is not full, we’d offer marketing; checking into it

7) Kings-Indie

Berkeley-maybe a fee; great sound

9) Dive Bar-metal; book their own

Smaller venues, local acts

10) Slims-booking their own, we’ll promote

11) Deep south-booking their own, we’ll promote

DJs-Black flower, five star, white collar, big easy, oxford, the hive……we’ll give them a list of DJ applications & they can choose from those

Smaller acts-Artisan, Woodys, Vintage, buku,

TOP PICKS for musicSPARK to book: Lincoln theatre, pour house, kings, southland, Berkeley, Deep South

Ideas from SPARK mixer:

-music panel on myriad of artists/producers/writers,etc. (NC songwriters coop., music makers relief fund)

-make “movie” of artists from different genres creating a song

                -Sponsors/fundraising:

                1) Raleigh rickshaw

                2)NC songwriters coop.-IN!

                3) music makers relief fund (we throw them a fundraiser w/musicspark taking half proceeds)

                4) guitar center

-cover fundraiser sometime in august; choose bands from first applicants to set venue & market; advertise for “more to come,” announce festival line-up the night of the fundraiser (@ kings july 29)

-LeeAnn is waiting to hear back about fundraiser letter; will forward to everyone once she receives

                -possibility of barbershop quartets on corners?
