Last Day of SPARKcon 2010!

We know you are probably bummed that it is the last day of SPARKcon, but don’t worry, we still have lots great activities and performances for you!

As usual, there are way to many events going of for us to post about all of them, but you can check out the full Schedule of Events for Sunday!

Here are a few of the Sunday events you can check out!

Bazaar Continued! – The bazaar on Davie has been extended to Sunday as well! Come check out all of the amazing vendors.
When: 11:00-3:00pm
Where: Martin Street across Fayetteville

BIG DRAW – Is a collaborative event encouraging everyone to let the creativity flow and draw! Draw to think, to invent and communicate, to play – all ages welcome. Participants will be eligible for the prize of a free workshop at Raleigh Institute of Contemporary Art’s (RICA) studio in Raleigh. No pre-registration. Fee is $3 per participant (cash only)
When: 11:00-4:00pm
Where: Fayetteville Street near PODS

Scrap Exchange – Creative play area for kids of all ages. The Scrap Exchange will bring recycled materials to make art with.
When: 11:00 – 4:00
Where: Fayetteville St at the Kid’s Tents

Music Performances! - More music on Main Stage, the Music Stage and in various venues. We are music crazy!
When: All Day
Where: All over!

Dance Performance – If you missed the dance activities yesterday, you can still catch a great performance with Nicola Bullock.
When: 12:45-1:15
Where: City Plaza

Circus Workshops - Didn’t get your fill of circus workshops yesterday, there are more today!
When: Starting at noon
Where: Circus Tent on Davie

48 Hour Challenge Screening - Come and see the films made during the 48 Hour filmSPARK challenge!
When: 4:00-5:00pm
Where: ArtSpace

Day Three of SPARKcon 2010!

We hope you got some sleep after going to all of the awesome Friday events (Fashion Show, Street Party, Music performances, etc), because there is even more to look forward to today!

Saturday is JAM PACKED with SPARK events, so check out the SPARK Schedule for a complete listing!

Here are just a few Saturday highlights to get you excited:

Youth Poetry Readings/Workshop –  poetrySPARK knows that artistic inspiration starts young, so come check out this event, hosted by Will McInerney and Stephanie Levin.
When: 10:00-11:30am

Circus Workshops - Throughout the day, circusSPARK will be hosting a series of workshops for young and old! These will range from aerial silks, to juggling, to costuming. Learn something new and impress your friends with your circus skills!
When: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Where: Circus Tent on Fayetteville

Theatre Performances - Check out the entire line up of theatreSPARK events!
When: All day
Where: Lichten Plaza

Bazaar and Fashion Shop- a collection of artisans, food, fashion, friends and surprise joining together along with their wares as an outdoor shopping experience. Visit the Bazaar on Martin St. and the Fashion Shop on near City Plaza!
When: 10:00-5:00pm on Saturday
Where: on Martin Street crossing Fayetteville and near City Plaza

sipSPARK Showdown - A dozen or more area bartenders go head-to-head to determine who’s the best. Round 1 – Qualifiers: Bartenders mix each judges favorite drink to advance Round 2 – Semis: Bartenders create a original/signature cocktail to advance Round 3 – Finals: Two finalists create cocktails with a secret ingredient (to be revealed).
When: 2:00-4:00pm
Where: Marriott City Center Lounge

Music Performances - We will have music act on the Main Stage at City Plaza, on the Music Stage on Hargett, and in several venues around town!
When: ALL DAY AND NIGHT!

CircusVariety Showcase – The Showcase will start with a DJ performance on the main stage and a parade from the circusSPARK tent to the stage. This will be a Variety Showcase of Performers from circusSPARK, including jugglers, hoopers, acrobats, poi spinners, weapon dancers, magic, and circus freaks!
When: 6:30-8:00pm
Where: Main Stage at City Plaza

Shorts Screening Extravaganza - A showcase of local, independently produced, short films
When: 8:00-9:30
Where: Main Stage at City Plaza

Poetry Slam - poetry readings by local talent, lead by Dasan Ahanu!
When: 9:30-11:00pm
Where: Main Stage at City Plaza

We are off to such a great start for the weekend! If you didn’t make it to some of yesterdays events, don’t worry we have plenty more for you to do, see, hear, and interact with. Street Painting Starts! - Every year the artSPARK Street Painting event gets bigger and better. Be sure to check it out!
When: The chalk starts flying at 3pm

Game Jam - Check out the various games created by different teams for SPARKcon!
When: 5:00-8:00 pm
Where: Fragment (on Fayetteville St.)

Fashion Show! - This is the biggest annual fashion show in the triangle and it is totally free to the public! Don’t miss your chance to see these amazing designs strut down the runway.
When: 8:00-9:00 pm
Where: On the Main Stage at City Plaza!

Fire Jam with circusSPARK – The Fire Triangle Performers with Rhythmicity Drummers, need we say more?
When: 10:00-12:00
Where: At the circusSPARK tent on Fayetteville

musicSPARK Presents – There will be music performances on the Main Stage and at various venues on Friday!
