Announcing: Group Bike Rides All Weekend
Just Announced 9/17/09 There will be 4 Group Bike Rides Taking Place this weekend in conjunction with SPARKcon!
The rides will meet in front of the Cameron Village Library, and each one will be themed for the event that we’ll visit.

Please join us for the Music Ride! We’ll be meeting in front of the Cameron Village Library at 8:30 on Thursday night to check out the first night of SPARKcon. There will be some fantastic music happening within one city block of downtown, so we’ll be checking out a few. We’ll ride down Clark Ave to Hillsborough Street and then over to the Tir na Nog for Local Band Local Beer night. Additionally, Knock Out Roses and the Revolutionary Sweethearts will be playing Slim’s around the corner, DJs Thein and Smedium will be at the Hive and Old Habits will be headlining the Roots Spark next door at the Pour House.
“Wear What You Are” Fashion Ride.

Come dressed to impress for the Fashion Ride! In order to see Raleigh at it’s most fashionably attired, we’ll be meeting in front of the Cameron Village Library at 7:30 on Friday night. We’ll head downtown from there to the main fashion attraction of SPARKcon, the runway show on Fayetteville Street. Come see 14 of Raleigh’s best designers, makeup artists and hair stylists in the hottest part of SPARKcon. This show always brings together the best and brightest of Raleigh’s fashion community, and this will be an incredible spectacle on Raleigh’s main street.
“Hair!” Ride
Saturday at 3:15
Come see some of North Carolina’s finest performing arts talent in the production of “Hair.” We’ll be meeting in front of Cameron Village Library at 3:15 on Saturday and riding down Hillsborough Street to get to Fayetteville Street on time for the Burning Coal production. If you’ve already made it down to the new Murphy School Theater on Polk Street, you know that this company has a reputation for bold, innovative theater, and this will be an exciting part of SPARKcon!
artSPARK Ride

Come recover from the rest of SPARKcon with a relaxing day of checking out fun art! There will be several exhibits open during the day, and Sunday will be a prime day to relax and enjoy some of the most innovative and unique art in downtown Raleigh. Come see Joseph Carnevale’s latest Barrel Monster construction, see the artSPARK galleries on the 200 block of Fayetteville and go see the experimental video lounge at the Fish Market, featuring vintage furniture from Father and Son.
Also remember Saturday and Sunday there will be a FREE BIKE VALET!
