FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MusicSPARK Lineup Showcases 94 Local Bands in 15 Venues!
RALEIGH, NC (September 6, 2009) — In reflection of a vibrant music scene in the Triangle, MusicSPARK has grown to be bigger than it has ever been before. This year’s lineup will include more than 88 bands, the vast majority of them being local acts that span from Jazz to Hip Hop and Rock to Bluegrass. Shows include a vibrant Neu Romance DJ event at Mosaic, a SoulSPARK night at the Pour House featuring Darien Brockington, performances by the Belfast Boys,  a special Drum & Bass showcase at Jibarra, a Roots showcase at Pour House with Old Habits, and a performance by the NC Master Chorale. Come see the best local music showcase of 2009!

In response to the diverse talent at MusicSPARK, the organizers themselves span a wide range of interests and are using a record of 14 venues to showcase local talent in the Raleigh area. Lead organizers Mary Ellis and Ann Marie Baum reached out to SPARKcon veteran Chico Scott, along with Monique Emmons, Greg Ettenson, Britt Foxworth, DJ Gonzo, Wally Lang, Dani Nation, Ryan Parker, Aharon Segal, Sarah Seligson, Frances Spurgeon, Christopher Tamplin, Christopher Thurston, and David Turnage.

All shows on the main stage are free to the public. Most of the 14 private clubs charge an admission fee. Following is the preliminary lineup for MusicSPARK 09. Be sure to check www.sparkcon.com for up-to-the-minute schedule, lineup and venue changes.
